About us
Lapidaus is an Australian private and independent lapidary studio based in Canberra, specialising in gem-cutting. Operated by Ivan Bullock, it transforms rough gems on vintage faceting equipment, traditional cabbing hardware, simple rotary tumblers and other shaping and carving tools.
Lapidaus focuses on hunting, cutting and finishing legally and ethically sourced untreated Australian stones, many of which are hand-fossicked and collected by ourselves at sites around QLD, NSW and VIC, or purchased through a network of friendly gem dealers, mine owners and other lapidary organisations.

Aquamarines and emeralds, from clears to ocean blues and soft greens, we clean up specimens and also facet natural rough from Australian dealers.
